Alabama Rivers Alliance Infographic
This infographic was created as a part of a client project for Alabama Rivers Alliance. After meeting with the client and hearing their needs, my team and I decided to created three documents for ARA: an updated brochure, a rack card, and an infographic.
This infographic was a new document for ARA and was created to be a “one-stop-shop” for ARA to explain who they are and what they do. I served as the lead on this document.
"I'm Sorry" Cards
These cards were created based on a reading about the typographic canvas of the Serenity Prayer. I wanted to create something that allowed people to participate in an act that is culturally important and upcoming, and I believe that emotional intelligence is one of these categories for action in our current day. The cards were intended to help people engage in the act of apologizing in different situations, an act that is often very difficult. The form of the document helps users formulate the apology and add additional things they would like to say.
"More Than a Number" Advocacy Card
This card was designed in response to readings about how statistics in design frequently undermine the human suffering that the numbers represent. The card serves as a way to advocate for mental health awareness in the college application process, as well as to offer resources to those struggling with mental-health-related issues.
"Does type really matter?" Poster
This poster was created in response to various readings about how typeface has personality. The intended audience for the poster is students or other individuals going about a busy day. The poster intentionally switches the typefaces of each popular movie to make the audience engage with this question: does type really matter? The colors are kept consistent to the color palette of the original movies to create continuity.
Animal Shelter Infographic
This infographic was created for a class assignment where the prompt was simply "create an infographic". After researching current social problems, I decided to make my infographic in response to the increase in euthanization and surrender rates in animal shelters after the COVID-19 pandemic. My design was born out of the data I had collected as well as the user profiles I had created for my design, considered where I planned to post the infographic.
"I'm a Designer?" Brochure
This brochure was created in response to readings about the growing need for technical writers and communicators to also understand basic design principles as their job descriptions are beginning to become more graphic-based as well as word-based. The brochure intends to offer basic design principles to technical communicators to aid them in this transition.
